 After a delightful lunch in the city and some last-minute shopping, we’ll venture out towards the stunning Khar-Us-Nuur (Black Water Lake), the largest lake in the region. As we journey through the afternoon, marvel at the majestic 4,000-meter-high Jargalant Mountains towering in the background. 

Our adventure continues as we reach the enchanting plain nestled between the mountains and the lake. Here, you’ll encounter local cattle breeders and their camels, goats, and flocks of sheep, immersing yourself in the authentic nomadic lifestyle. 

For the night, we’ll set up your mobile yurt next to a welcoming host family of nomads. Experience the mesmerizing sounds of an overtone singer, tuning you into the rich traditions and life of the Mongols of West Mongolia.

In the footsteps of the snow leopards. Tsagaan Sai, Ust and Khar chuluut valleys 

Awaken to your first morning in the yurt, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Mongolian wilderness. After a hearty breakfast, embark on your first excursion into the breathtaking mountain landscape. 

Your adventure begins with a jeep ride to a sacred spring at the entrance of a spectacular gorge. From this vantage point, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the vast plain, the shimmering Black Lake, and the majestic mountain range on the horizon. 

 Continue your journey on foot into the Tsagaan Sair Valley. Here, you’ll encounter the first signs of local wildlife, including wild boars, Saiga antelope, Siberian ibex, Argalis, foxes, gray wolves, and perhaps even the elusive king of the mountains, the snow leopard. In winter, the frozen river makes for an easier trek up the valley, with ideal spots for setting up observation posts along the rocky cliffs. With a bit of luck, you might come face-to-face with the legendary big cat. 

Today’s adventure is not just a hike; it’s a purposeful quest. Your experienced local guide has intimate knowledge of the leopards’ territory and markings, while the local cattle breeders provide the latest information on their whereabouts. Although sightings are rare, the mere presence of the snow leopards and their tracks will set your adrenaline pumping. As the day winds down, return to camp and witness the ranchers herding their animals back to the yurts. Watch as they care for the young ones, feeding them with baby bottles—a heartwarming scene of life in harmony with nature. 

After a day filled with incredible sights and experiences, return to the yurt camp in the afternoon. Enjoy another night in our cozy Gers or with a local family, cherishing the peaceful solitude of this unique setting.
