A closer look.
Make the most of a short wildlife escape with three days focused on Wilpattu and Kala Wewa. Search Wilpattu’s forest roads and natural lakes for leopards, sloth bears and other wildlife, then continue to Kala Wewa to look for elephants, including tuskers.
Early and late sessions give you time in the field when conditions are suitable. Your guide will adjust the day around wildlife activity, access and your photographic interests, always allowing animals space and avoiding disturbance.

YOUR TIME IN THE FIELD
The itinerary.
Day 1Arrive in Wilpattu and take your first safari
Meet your guide and transfer to your safari accommodation near Wilpattu. After settling in, head into the park for an introductory safari, looking for leopards, sloth bears and other wildlife.
Day 2A full day exploring Wilpattu
Spend the day exploring Wilpattu’s forest, clearings and natural lakes. Work with your guide to follow recent wildlife activity while allowing time for patient observation and photography.
Day 3Final Wilpattu safari and Kala Wewa
Enjoy a final morning safari before travelling to Kala Wewa. Explore the reservoir area for elephants, including tuskers, and learn about their behaviour from your guide. Confirm the final drop-off and onward arrangements when planning the tour.
